our
story
Our founder, Dental Hygienist Brenda Fry, hails from Ireland where she graduated top of her class at University College of Cork in 2004. With 20 years of oral health experience working across a variety of dental settings, Brenda became aware of the increasing demand for accessible oral health care for aged care and home bound patients. Having developed a passionate interest in this area she established a close mentorship with an industry leading aged care dentist.
With the encouragement of her mentor and industry peers, Brenda went on to set up Bright Smiles Mobile Dental in Canberra during 2022. Her vision was to provide families of aged care and home bound residents with regular and easily accessible preventative dental care for their loved ones, especially when getting to a surgery proved challenging. The aim of her service - to improve quality of life and prevent patient discomfort with minimally invasive, kind, caring and compassionate care.

With Brenda's sincere passion for making a positive difference, coupled with her warm, kind and genuine nature, she has quickly gained an esteemed reputation in the aged care sector across both Canberra and regional NSW. Dentally anxious patients find themselves comfortable and enjoying her Celtic charm. Brenda has particular success treating residents living with dementia, often to the relief of anxious family members.

Brenda has carefully crafted a team of likeminded professionals at Bright Smiles Mobile Dental, which now services more than 50 residential aged care home in Canberra, ACT and surrounding regional NSW. As the company has expanded, Brenda has surrounded herself with highly experienced professionals, bearing similar characteristics and style. This ensures that patient care is consistently delivered to the highest standard at all times.

Brenda is an active member of the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia (DHAA) and the Mobile Dental Providers Australia (MDPA).

Brenda has won the 2024 Canberra Weekly Social Impact Business Women of the Year Award, as recognition of her outstanding work and care for senior citizens and vulnerable communities
